Dr Chris Barter

A message for Dr Chris' patients:

Dr Chris is on leave from Eastern Shore Doctors Bellerive (ESDB) between 18th April and 27th May 2025. He will be available for appointments from 28th May to 26th June 2025, which will be his final day practising at the clinic before he leaves to prepare for an extended adventure in Antarctica. After this time, you may still see Dr Chris at ESDB in a casual capacity.

Patients are welcome to book appointments with Dr Bahier Bahier, Dr Robyn Mathews, or Dr Patrick Davoren.

Dr Chris is an Irish GP with an interest in paediatrics, remote medicine, travel medicine, refugee health, and Aboriginal healthcare. He works part-time with the Aboriginal Service, the Royal Flying Doctors (QLD), and here in Bellerive for two days a week. On weekends, he can be found riding his bike around Kunanyi and Derby.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil Law (Hons)

• Diploma in Tropical Medicine Hygiene
• Certified Health Professional (Syd)
• Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP)
