Important Note: Eastern Shore Doctors Lauderdale Closure

With several of our long-serving doctors retiring, others relocating, plus Australia’s GP shortage, Eastern Shore Doctors Lauderdale has now closed.

Eastern Shore Doctors Bellerive cannot realistically accept all Lauderdale patients and still provide an adequate service. We will aim to prioritise those with the most urgent care needs.

As a valued patient, you have options for the future of your care.

  • Lauderdale Medical Centre will soon open at the current Lauderdale location (444 South Arm Road). To register for the waiting list for this new clinic, please visit their website at https://www.lauderdalemc.com.au/

Other clinics in the local area that are accepting new patients include:

We can assist in transferring your medical records to one of these clinics, or another of your choosing. As always, the health and wellbeing of patients remains our central priority.

Patient Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why did Eastern Shore Doctors Lauderdale close?

With several long-serving doctors retiring and others relocating, Eastern Shore Doctors Lauderdale reviewed various options to continue to serve our community. While every effort was made to recruit replacements, the GP shortage in Australia has made attracting new doctors extremely difficult.

Q: Do you have any other medical centres nearby?

Yes, we have medical centres at Rosny Park, Sorell, in the CBD, and at Sandy Bay that are all accepting new patients.

We can assist in transferring your medical records to one of these clinics or another of your choosing.

Q: What do I need to do to have my medical records transferred to another practice?

To transfer your records, please follow the steps below.

Step 1: Contact your new clinic and request a transfer of medical records form.

Step 2: Complete the form and sign it.

Step 3: Your new clinic will need to email this request form to our Assistant Practice Manager, Tiarne at tiarne.longo@easternshoredoctors.com.au.

Step 4: Tiarne will liaise with your new clinic and facilitate the records transfer.

Q: Can you provide me with my medical records?

For privacy reasons, patient records cannot be released directly to patients. However, if you would like our friendly reception team to transfer your healthcare records to another practice, please complete a transfer request form from your new clinic.
