Fees

The doctors at Eastern Shore Doctors Bellerive bill privately, and fees are payable in full at the end of the consultation. Fees will vary depending on the length of time you spend with the doctor, the complexity of your medical condition, and the doctor you see. 

You can find the doctors' fee list here, or call us, and our friendly reception team will explain the fee structure to you. Please note: Bulk billing is not available for DVA gold card holders. DVA patients are charged at the pension rate and not covered by DVA.

Cancellations: Please cancel your appointment by calling our receptionists at least 2 hours before your scheduled appointment time. This allows other patients the opportunity to make an appointment. Failure to do so will result in a non-attendance fee of $40.00 for a standard consultation or $70.00 for an extended consultation, which will not be able to be claimed from Medicare.

Payment Terms

It is practice policy that all accounts are settled in full on the day of your consultation. Payments may be made by cash, cheque, EFTPOS and credit card (MasterCard and Visa cards accepted). If you have a debit or savings card, you will receive your Medicare Rebate almost instantly. Otherwise, upon payment of your account, our staff will lodge your claim with Medicare. Provided you have your bank details registered with Medicare, your rebate will be forwarded directly to your nominated bank account within four days. 

If an appointment is no longer required, please notify us at least two hours before your appointment time so that we can allocate it to another patient. A fee may be charged for non-attendance, which cannot be claimed from Medicare.

Patients with financial difficulties should speak with their GP directly.

Please note: Additional costs may apply for other GP service items or clinic services, such as wound care products, consumable items, and specific administrative requests (e.g., transfer of medical records).

After Hours

For after hours care, please call Hello Home Doctor Service in Hobart on 134 100. This service can take bookings from 6:00pm on weekdays, 12:00 midday on Saturdays, and all day on Sundays and public holidays.
 

You may also contact Healthdirect on 1800 022 222, which is a free national medical helpline where you will be able to discuss your symptoms with a Registered Nurse who will provide advice.
